Just watching the beginning of this video where X aka Akin Francis walks out the front door of his house in Austin makes me hyped to go back out there. It is a super cool scene down there, and X and his roommates live the life to the fullest! Look at this video of Akin cruising into downtown to go shred.
Brian Barnhartt has some really awesome photos from a couple of trips that him and Grady took down to Austin to escape the New York winters. Austin is basically the best place you can imagine for riding in the winter months, it has perfect weather, lots of trails, street, ramps, and a fun party scene at night as well. I have been super busy since I got back from Texas. I moved to a new place, and haven’t had much time to go through my pics from the trip. Now that I am settled in, I am starting to finally look at what I shot. Here are to pics of Akin Francis aka X who is the best host you can have no matter where he is living.
X was cruising around in his Pedi-Cab during SXSW and made bank doing it! Dude went hard and put in mad hours on that thing carting people all over the city.
I managed to catch Screeching Weasel’s set at SXSW, where I ran into NW homies Forrest and Bogues. The show was wild with Ben Weasel just talking down on the festival until he started fighting people. Check the video below!!!

When I was down in Austin I was lucky enough to go and check out TERRIBLE ONE also known as T1. They are a small rider-owned company based out of Austin that has been on the scene for many years now. They have a really great ramp in their backyard, and I got to see some dope skating and riding go down on it.
This thing is crazy, its probably 7 or 8 feet tall, all skatelite covered and when I got to town they had just replaced every screw in the ramp! I couldn’t do too much on the ramp but the locals shredded hard.
If you are down in Austin, TX check out this alleycat race that FAST FOLKS is having in late Feb. I threw down a few shirts for prizes, and I am sure it will be a good time!
Leaving for Texas, I was in the middle of a slush filled mess at LaGuardia Airport in NY, and once I got to Austin the snow somehow kept tabs on me and followed right behind me. My first night in Austin there was about a half inch of icy snow on the ground, something you can tell the people are not used to dealing with. The rest of the trip was great weather and I got to ride a bunch of cool spots. Here are a few more pics below.
I just got back from an amazing trip from Austin Texas. Everything was great about the place from the weather to the food, the riding, bar scene. I did not have any complaints except that I had to leave.

I just got back to the frozen Tundra known as NY, after spending the past week roaching around Austin, TX and riding in Tshirts all day long. I am not to psyched to have left that scene! I am way too lazy to go through any pics right now so, i’ll just put up a couple of other peoples videos instead.

I am currently living it up in Austin, TX with my good friend Akin who has been hooking it up with awesome parties, food, and good times! Above is a video he put together of some good ol BMX riding he filmed in Texas. Dan Depre is also lurking Austin and hopefully I will meet up with him and the Maryland crew too!
